Picture time

Well, the place we're at now is pretty well set up. We've got internet, big screen TVs, games, a gym, an outstanding chow hall (the whole 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach' is especially true for Marines) and a small movie theatre I have yet to check out. Unfortunately we'll be leaving this place, plus the Marine Corps is shutting this camp down soon anyways. Pitty. But, here are some photos from my journey thus far:

This a view from the terminal in Ireland. This is all we could see from the little place we were restricted to. It would have been nice to see the rolling hills and such. Side note: I would never want to marry someone with an Irish accent, it's just not sweet enough. British, perhap, but, after talking with them, not Irish.

This is us waiting in line for coffee. You'd think being Ireland would warrant genuine Irish coffee. Nope, all they had was black coffee and beer, of which no one was allowed to partake in anyway. However, I will note that the coffee was good.

This is inside the tent we're staying in now. It's cozy enough for comfort. Our AC was out for part of the day but luckily it only got up to 92 today.

This is an outside view of some of the tents on our "pad" as they call it. They have a real nice set up here. It's not the Hilton, but, it's definitely functional enough. I'd enjoy being here.

This is my and two guys from my platoon, Hayes in the middle and Parker on the right.

There you have it, some visual stimulation from 6000 miles away. I'll put up another message in the next day, time permitting.

We have arrived!

Hello everyone from around the world. It's 8am in my world right now here in Kuwait. We landed last night after only a 17 hour trip that included a 2 hour layover in Ireland (and it was summarily limited to the area right outside the gate, so no cool stuff to talk about there). We came in last night and they started briefing on everything going on, gave us ammunition, and showed us where we could sleep. Still haven't slept yet, but, we not operating on a high tempo right now so its no biggie.

There's an internet cafe set up where we're at here in Kuwait, so, until we leave I have the ability to send pictures. I'll try and get timed for it later to go in there with my laptop and post some. We're not sure how long we're going to be here, could be up to 4 or 5 days, but I'll let you know, if possible, when I'll be gone. I love you all. Stay safe.
